Jonathan Grossman, a member in the firm’s Antitrust Practice Group, was quoted in The New York Times last month. The article, titled “Antitrust Suit in Michigan Tests Health Law,” addresses an antitrust lawsuit filed against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. According to the article, the goal of the Obama administration’s health care law to increase competition among health insurers will be tested by this case. Jonathan is quoted on this topic saying, “ [Officials] have been struggling for a while with the fact that in health insurance markets, small players are not able to enter and expand in a way to make them significant competitors. Nobody can look at the suit against Michigan and say they didn’t put everybody on notice.”
