Cozen O’Connor Ranks Fifth Nationally, First in Philadelphia, in American Lawyer Midlevel Associates’ Survey

In The American Lawyer’s annual survey of midlevel associates, Cozen O’Connor maintained its high score in satisfaction levels, ranking fifth in the nation and first in the Philadelphia area. The survey – 85 questions given to third-, fourth-, and fifth-year associates – asked respondents to rate their firms on a scale of one to five in 12 areas that contribute to overall satisfaction. While consistently scoring in the top tier on all categories, Cozen O’Connor scored, some notable stand outs include “How interesting the work is,” “Associate relations,” “Partner-associate relations,” “Attitude toward pro bono,” and “Likelihood of staying two years.”

The American Lawyer also looked at the trends over the last five years, averaging firms’ scores from 2008 through 2012. In “The Five-Year Perspective,” Cozen O’Connor placed third nationally.

In addition to job satisfaction, The American Lawyer also asked midlevel associates to rate their firms’ technology. Cozen O’Connor ranked ninth in the nation, receiving high marks in both training and support. The firm has long prided itself on its flexibility and adaptability when it comes to new technology.
