On April 18, 2012 Cozen O' Connor, a full service law firm with offices throughout the United States, and in London, UK. will join the Support Center for Child Advocates (Child Advocates) as a leading sponsor at the agency’s Annual Benefit Reception & Auction. The event will be held at the famed Crystal Tea Room (Wanamaker Building, 100 Penn Square East, Philadelphia) and will celebrate Child Advocates 35 years leading the nation with a trailblazing model of pro bono legal and social services for abused and neglected children. The event, one of Philadelphia's premier charity galas with an expected attendance of over 1000 legal, corporate and individual supporters, will consist of a Cocktail Reception, Silent and Live Auctions and an inspiring Awards Ceremony honoring Marciene S. Mattleman, President of ASAP/After School Activities Partnerships and Education Reporter for KYW News, with the 2012 Judge Lois G. Forer Child Advocacy Award.

“With recent cases of child abuse currently flooding the headlines, there is now a renewed focus on the care and well-being of children which is our specialty. The Annual Benefit Reception & Auction is an exciting evening where we honor an exemplary class of community leaders and friends of children as Distinguished Advocates. We also raise critical funds that allow us to advocate for laws that protect the rights of children and work to attain our mission of securing a permanent and nurturing environment for every child,” says Frank P. Cervone, Child Advocates Executive Director and a nationally recognized child welfare legal expert.

In addition to honoring Marciene S. Mattelman for her leadership and vision in providing young people with access to quality education and healthy mentoring relationships, Child Advocates will celebrate the extraordinary efforts of the following individuals/couples who are changing the story for children recognizing them with the Distinguished Advocates award: Leonard A. Bernstein (Reed Smith LLP), Sharon & William Fogle (Adoptive Parents), Karen G. Lessin, Anne M. Manero (Kent & McBride PC), Raymond L. McCullough (Pennsylvania Convention Center), Peter J. McNamara (Law Offices of Peter J. McNamara), John J. Pavain (MaxQ Technologies), Adrienne Simmons & Bradley T. Sheares, and Bernadette T. Smith.
