Suzanne Mayes, a member of Cozen O’Connor and co-chair of the firm’s Public and Project Finance Group, will be honored by the Alice Paul Institute with a 2012 Alice Paul Equality Award. Mayes will receive the award at a gala reception on April 26, 2012 at The Mansion in Voorhees, N.J. Mayes joined Cozen O’Connor in 2007 and, in addition to being co-chair of her practice group, also sits on the firm’s board of directors.
Mayes is a founding board member of Ladies First, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational and networking opportunities for female public finance professionals in the mid-Atlantic region. She is a member of the board of the Forum of Executive Women and on the advisory board of BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools) Mayes also sits on the board of Mount Saint Joseph Academy and is past president of its alumnae association. In 2012, Mayes was named a panel member of Governor Corbett’s Higher Education Advisory Panel.
The Alice Paul Equality Awards honor individuals from any industry or field who capture the spirit of Alice Paul and continue Alice’s mission of advancing women’s equality in America. This year’s honorees also include Lynn Doyle, from “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle” The U.S. Senator Robert Menedez, U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney, Toni Pergolin, president and CEO of Bancroft, Molly Shepard, founder, president and CEO of The Leader’s Edge, and Eleanor Smeal, president and founder of the Feminist Majority Foundation. The Alice Paul Institute is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1984 to commemorate the centennial of Alice Paul’s birth in 1855 and to further her legacy.
