Jennifer Brandt, a member of the firm’s Family Law Department, was a guest on Shepard Smith Reporting today on Fox News to discuss France’s new proposal to allow consenting couples to divorce without ever seeing a judge. Under the proposal, a court clerk could approve divorces when both spouses agree. Proponents of the plan argue that divorcing couples in agreement, on average, only spend eight minutes before a judge; opponents argue it will further weaker the institution of marriage.
