Cozen O’Connor Welcomes Steven Katkov to the Firm’s Real Estate Practice in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, October 26, 2015 – Cozen O’Connor expanded its Real Estate practice group with the hiring of Steven Katkov as a member in the firm’s Minneapolis office. Steven brings over 25 years of experience representing a wide variety of closely held corporations, partnerships, emerging businesses, lenders, and individuals throughout the United States. He also provides business and corporate law services to a number of clients in industries including manufacturing, commercial real estate, banking, and the technology sector, with an emphasis on software and hardware solutions.

“Continuing to grow our profile in Minneapolis a top priority for our office,” said Tom Wallrich, the Office Managing Partner in Minneapolis. “Deepening our bench with Steven, who is an experienced real estate attorney, will expand our offerings to our clients. I am excited to have him join the team,” he continued. 

Katkov focuses in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, banking, and intellectual property, and provides legal advice on a variety of business, transactional, corporate and tax matters. Because of his experience, he has been sought out as a board member for the Unity Bank of Minnesota’s Community Advisory Board and the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Tax Law Section, among others. He has been a speaker for seminars at various organizations including the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Federation of Exchange Accommodators, and the Indiana Society of Public Accountants, and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas.

Katkov received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. He was a staff member and then managing editor of Law and Inequality: A Journal of Theory and Practice and was a graduate research assistant to Professor Carol Chomsky, professor of American Legal History. He earned his M.S. in justice studies from Arizona State University, summa cum laude, during which he was a graduate research assistant for Professor Pat Lauderdale. He received his B.A. in sociology, magna cum laude, from Macalester College.
