New York, August 25, 2015 – Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that it has expanded its New York Real Estate Group with the hiring of Joseph Mascia as a member. He joins Cozen O’Connor from Duane Morris, where he served as special counsel. Mascia will be resident in the firm’s New York Midtown office.

His unique insights and first-hand experiences will provide our clients with valuable insight. Mascia focuses his practice in all areas of real estate law, with significant experience in the commercial real estate arena. He has counseled real estate owners and developers in a wide array of areas including acquisition and disposition of office, industrial, warehouse, multi-family and mixed-use properties as well as interim, permanent and construction financing. He has worked on noteworthy transactions, including air rights and ground lease transactions, large structured securitized financing and real estate-based and asset-based financing, and the acquisition and disposition of notable property in New York City. In addition, he has represented owners and users in commercial leasing transactions.
With the hiring of Mascia, Cozen O’Connor continues to increase the depth of its real estate practice and strength in New York. “His arrival provides Cozen O’Connor with valuable experience in the important and highly dynamic New York real estate market,” said Abby Wenzel, co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice and office managing partner of the firm’s New York Midtown office.
Mascia brings almost two decades of experience with legal, transactional, advising and high-level negotiation work to his new role. Earlier in his career, Mascia served an associate with several international law firms.
Mascia received his J.D. from Fordham University Law School and his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from Fordham University.
