Major brands tend to now apply for both the EU and the U.K. types of protection, but mid-market companies that only have EU trademarks and designs should consider their options now, said Camille. "Smaller companies sometimes don't want to spend the money to file in every country and solely rely on the EU trademark, so they don't have corresponding coverage in the U.K.," she said. "Those are the companies that are experiencing anxiousness."
