Jennifer Brandt Discusses 'Affluenza' Teen's Case on Fox News

Friday, February 19, 2016

Jennifer Brandt, co-chair of Cozen O'Connor's Family Law practice, discusses 'affluenza' teen Ethan Couch's case moving to the adult court system on Fox News. Couch received 10 years probation in juvenile court on four count of intoxication manslaughter in June 2013. After violating probation, he fled to Mexico and upon extradition back to the US in January 2016 he was moved to an adult jail. But will moving to the adult court system mean a harsher punishment for Couch? "Actually, moving to this case to adult court is sort of a win for Ethan Couch," says Jennifer "If he were to stay in the juvenile system and age out at age 19, he was going to be facing a 10 year prison term. Now he faces a 3 months in prison and will stay on his probation terms."
