Mark Alderman, chairman of Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, discusses the uncivil war erupting within the Democratic Party’s ranks in the Charlotte Observer and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee, says that the Sanders campaign has failed to sufficiently address its supporters’ riotous behavior. Conversely, the Sanders campaign has criticized Wasserman Schultz for using the party apparatus to support Hillary Clinton. The fresh hostility between party leadership and campaigners erupted after Sanders supporters grew hostile and claimed that the Nevada delegate selection process was unfair to Sanders. Additionally, Nevada Democratic Chairwoman Roberta Lange has received a slew of threatening messages after her personal information was shared on social media. Mark says Wasserman Schultz was, “trying hard to be an honest broker as DNC chief.” Mark added that, “Does her preference leak into her actions? Sure. That happens to all of us. But that doesn’t negate her intention to be fair and balanced.”
