Mark Alderman, chairman of Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, told the Boston Herald that the protracted Sanders campaign is beginning to take an unfortunate toll on the party. As Hillary rapidly approaches the total number of delegates she’ll need to clinch the nomination, Mark says that, “Sanders needs to quickly realize that while the issues he has raised have helped the party, his candidacy – and certainly his sniping at Clinton – is now hurting it.” Mark adds that Sanders, “Should absolutely fight on the platform. He should absolutely keep fighting for reforming the electoral process as he sees it, and for campaign finance. He should just stop running for president.” As California’s primary approaches, an undisputed candidate is seemingly imminent and perhaps Sanders will take Mark’s advice and stop running for president.
