Brooklyn Heights Tenants Fear Landlord's Excavation Could Take Out The Crumbling BQE

Ken Fisher, a member of the firm’s Business Law Department, discusses his client's plan for a parking garage near a historic apartment complex and a decaying section of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway in a Gothamist article, "Brooklyn Heights Tenants Fear Landlord's Excavation Could Take Out The Crumbling BQE."  Ken is representing Joel Wiener of the real estate management firm Pinnacle Group in his pursuit of building a 97-car subterranean garage in between a historic, rent-stabilized apartment complex and a decaying section of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Tenants attempting to block Wiener, claim excavating 7,000 cubic yards of soil will destabilize their building and undermine the structural integrity of a section of the highway. Ken argues, "It's a way to increase the value of the property."
