Hospital megamergers may lower overhead, but at what cost?

Jonathan Grossman, a member of the firm's Antitrust Practice, was quoted in Modern Healthcare's article, "Hospital megamergers may lower overhead, but at what cost?" After many recent large-scale merger announcements between hospital systems across the nation, experts are questioning whether these tie-ups will transform American health care for the better? Merging hospitals typically claim they will lower costs by increasing efficiency. Jonathan believes Ascension and Providence, two merging hospitals, "are already two really big systems. How much more efficiencies are there to be gained?"
