Mixed martial arts star McGregor pleads guilty to role in NYC melee

Bruce Maffeo, a member of Cozen O'Connor's White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice Group, discusses mixed martial arts fighter, Connor McGregor’s guilty plea in Reuters. McGregor’s plea is part of a deal with prosecutors to resolve charges over a brawl that broke out at the Barclays Center arena in April 2018. McGregor was charged with assault, criminal mischief, and other crimes, and pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — a violation that will not result in a criminal record. Bruce, who represents McGregor, noted that “the plea will have no effect on his immigration status or his ability to fight.”
