Ken Fisher discusses Queens District Attorney Democratic candidate Melinda Katz's narrow victory over Tiffany Cabán in the primary that was announced only after a lengthy manual recount and threats of affidavit ballot challenges. The race was considered a battle between moderate Katz and more far-left socialist Cabán. Although the race had little connection to the real estate community, it was closely monitored by the industry and Katz received significant financial backing from real estate leaders in the final days of the campaign.
“There was the perception, having nothing to do with the particular office, that had the insurgent won, it would have not only emboldened the left, but it also would have said to more mainstream incumbents that they had to watch their back," Ken said.
