HOUSTON – Tuesday, July 9, 2019 – Bryan Vezey, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Global Insurance Department, has been appointed by the Houston Bar Association as one of 14 founding members of the LGBTQ+ Committee. This committee examines issues and creates programming related to the community. The committee co-chairs will meet in July to set goals and discuss programming for 2019-2020, including participation in the Diversity Summit.

Bryan Vezey counsels and represents insurers in complex coverage and liability matters involving, among other things, construction defects, premises liability, security negligence, alter ego liability, construction site-related personal injury, environmental clean-up costs, Chinese drywall, mold, asbestos, silica, and industrial equipment failures. Bryan is also a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Insurance Coverage Litigation and its Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section, the State Bar of Texas Litigation and Insurance Law Sections, and the Houston Bar Association Litigation Section.

By establishing this committee, the Houston Bar Association recognizes there is much work to be done to ensure diversity and inclusion in the legal profession as well as in the communities. This committee will work alongside organizations like the Stonewall Law Association of Greater Houston to ensure that everyone has equal opportunities.

Bryan received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Dallas in 1989, and his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1993, where he was a law review editor and comment author.
