Charles J. Hynes, Brooklyn D.A. in a Tumultuous Era, Dies at 83

Ken Fisher is quoted in The New York Times on former Brooklyn district attorney Charles J. Hynes’ career milestones. Hynes served as the D.A. for 24 years beginning in 1989 and ending in 2013 when he lost the office in a vote. Ken, a former city council member who had known Hynes for decades, commented on Hynes’ re-election loss saying voters “just didn’t care what he had done in the past. They wanted to know what he would do for them now, and he didn’t have a great answer to that.”
