PHILADELPHIA – December 09, 2019 – Gina Maisto Smith has been selected by Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel as an honoree for their 2019 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards (formerly known as the National Women in Law Awards). Gina was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award category.
The awards honor general counsel, in-house leaders, and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law. They were recognized at an awards dinner on October 16, 2019, as part of the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference in Washington, D.C. The awards spotlight North American women in-house and law firm leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and business acumen.
Smith is the chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Institutional Response Group and the founder of the nation’s first practice dedicated to the institutional response to sexual and gender-based harassment, violence, child abuse, elder abuse, other forms of discrimination and harassment, workplace misconduct, and criminal conduct. Smith provides consulting, counseling, and legal advice on all aspects of the institutional response to misconduct. She assists institutions in designing effective institutional responses that integrate the complex federal and state regulatory framework with the unique dynamics of interpersonal misconduct and its impact on individuals, institutions, and communities. Smith is frequently called upon to advise institutional clients including presidents, boards, senior management, and counsel on the intersection of trauma-informed, fair, and impartial processes with the intersecting legal landscape.
