LOS ANGELES, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 —  Matthew Steinberg has been selected as a 2019 Top Litigator and Trial Attorney of the year by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Matt Steinberg has been a fixture in the Southern California litigation community for the past 40 years. Over the course of his career Matt has won significant jury verdicts for plaintiffs including three in excess of  $4 million. On the defense side, Matt won a defense judgment after trial in a consumer class action in which the plaintiff class sought over $200 million in restitution based on an alleged violation of California Business and Professions Code section 17200.  Matt’s reported appellate cases have made law in several aspects of state and federal law. Most recently, this spring, Matt won a multi-million dollar verdict for his investor clients in a five week jury trial in Orange County Superior court in which he had to prove the breach of an oral contract in the face of defendants’ spoliation of evidence.

Aside from this honor,  Matt has been listed in Super Lawyers magazine and Southern California Super Lawyers (2006-2007, 2009-2011), and he is rated AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law and his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley.
