WASHINGTON, D.C., April 29, 2019 — The Propeller Club – Port of Washington, DC, a chapter of the International Propeller Club of the United States, a nonprofit dedicated to the enhancement and well-being of all interests of the maritime community, named Cozen O'Connor attorney Jeff Vogel their new vice president.
The Propeller Club’s members comprise a cross-section of the maritime industry throughout the United States and in Europe and the Far East. The Propeller Club is the largest “grassroots” maritime association in the world with a membership of about 12,000 and clubs in 55 U.S. locations and 25 locations outside the United States. One of the primary objectives of The Propeller Club of Washington, D.C., is to promote relations between the varied interests in the maritime industry and to facilitate the active exchange of ideas on matters affecting the industry. Its goal is to educate legislators and the public as to the importance and necessity of all waterborne commerce.
Before joining Cozen O’Connor, Vogel established himself in the Washington, D.C., maritime world while working at the U.S. Department of Transportation and for Maritime Administration. At MARAD he was the acting chief of the Division of Maritime Programs, lead attorney for Maritime Support Programs, and an attorney-adviser. His work there covered the Maritime Security Program and the Federal Ship Financing Program’s (Title XI). He served as maritime legal adviser to the U.S. Trade Representative, and oversaw the legal aspects of the Capital Construction Fund and Construction Reserve Fund. Vogel earned degrees from the University of Maryland College Park, University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, the University of Miami School of Law, and the U.S. Naval War College.
