Helene Jaron and Calli Padilla chosen as Philadelphia Business Journal 2020 Women of Distinction Honorees

PHILADELPHIA, October 19, 2020 — Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that Helene Jaron, co-chair of the firm’s Private Client Services Group, was chosen as a Philadelphia Business Journal 2020 Women of Distinction honoree and Calli Padilla, member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, was named a Philadelphia Business Journal 2020 Women of Distinction Rising Star honoree. Women of Distinction spotlights the region's most influential business women, seeking women from every industry and profession (corporate and nonprofit), who've made a difference in their communities, blazed a trail for the rest of us, and are leaving a mark on Philadelphia business. The "Rising Star Award," is given to an up and coming woman, 35 years or younger.

Helene focuses her practice on sophisticated estate and tax planning for high net worth individuals and multi-generational families. Her practice includes advising family-owned businesses on all aspects of succession planning, including the development of tax strategies for liquidity events. Helene also works closely with family office clients to create tax-efficient structures and she provides strategic advice on the multitude of issues facing family offices on a day-to-day basis, including regulatory compliance and income tax planning. Additionally, Helene has extensive experience in the areas of charitable giving and tax-exempt organizations and she provides compliance-related advice to numerous family foundations.

Calli provides representation to individuals and corporations in complex commercial and business litigation matters. She has represented clients in both state and federal courts in a variety of industries and disputes, including breach of contract, common law fraud, antitrust, casualty defense, and catastrophic tort matters, among others. Calli assists clients with all aspects of litigation – from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial, and necessary appeals. She has tried several cases to verdict or judgment and has secured numerous dismissals, judgments, and favorable settlements for her clients.
