NEW YORK, NY — February 9, 2021 — Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce the consolidation of its two Manhattan offices to one of New York City’s newest trophy buildings, the LEED Gold certified 3 World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan. The new state-of-the-art office occupies the 55th and 56th floors. Cozen O’Connor is one of the largest law firms in the United States; the 15 year lease of over 77,000 square feet highlights the significant growth the law firm has experienced in recent years in many of its practice groups, such as corporate, commercial litigation, labor and employment, and real estate, as well as growth expected to continue in the future. The move to 3 World Trade Center is a consolidation of Cozen O'Connor’s offices formerly located at 45 Broadway and 277 Park Avenue.

“This is such a tremendous opportunity to unite the entire Cozen O’Connor New York City office in a stunning, state of the art space that has absolutely transformed downtown Manhattan,” said Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cozen O’Connor Michael J. Heller. “Finding a home that would provide room for expansion, as well as the safety and security our clients have come to expect was our number one goal. Having access to the wonderful amenities the downtown World Trade Center campus offers is something we knew would be appealing for our colleagues and clients alike. We especially anticipate making ample use of the extensive and exclusive outdoor space for events with our clients.”

“We are thrilled that Cozen O’Connor has selected Lower Manhattan to consolidate its New York operations,” said Jessica Lappin, president of the Alliance for Downtown New York. “We look forward to welcoming Cozen O’Connor’s staff and clients to their new home and the rich business, dining, and shopping options that our neighborhood provides.”

Cozen O’Connor was founded in 1970 and ranks among the top 100 law firms in the country. With more than 825 attorneys in 31 cities across two continents, the unification of the Manhattan office brings more than 100 employees together in one exclusive space for the first time in years. The firm has recently seen significant growth in its nationally recognized practices in litigation and transactional practices.

“This is a unique opportunity for Cozen O’Connor’s New York office to finally realize the synergies of bringing all of our employees together under one roof,” said Michael C. Schmidt, co-office managing partner of Cozen O’Connor’s New York Office. “We are truly excited about the ability to service all of our client’s needs across the spectrum of services we offer from one pristine location. Naturally, to best serve our clients throughout the city, we will also maintain a conference center with guest offices at 100 Park Avenue in Midtown, which will be staffed by Cozen O’Connor employees.”

“At a time when we are encouraging companies to illustrate their commitment to New York, we are thrilled to see Cozen O’Connor demonstrate its dedication with the completion of its long-planned offices at 3WTC,” said Melva M. Miller, CEO of the Association for a Better New York. “Cozen O’Connor joins other prominent employers in this LEED Gold-certified building in the hub of downtown Manhattan, welcoming returning office workers, clients, and guests as New York City’s 2021 recovery continues to take shape.”
