He is a former New York City councilman and served as founding chair of the New York City Chapter of the New York League of Conservation Voters and was founding chair of the Governors Island Alliance. Fisher is chair of the Brooklyn Bar Association Committee on Government & the Public Sector. He previously served as chair of the New York City Bar Association Land Use Planning & Zoning Committee and Insurance Law Committee and was a member of the Judiciary Committee.
