Thomas Wilkinson, member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department and Legal Profession Practice Group, has been appointed to serve a four year term as a trustee on the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance and Trust Fund. The Bar Trust fund was established to provide funds to promote educational and charitable purposes associated with the legal profession and the administration of justice regarding the promotion of such purposes within the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Bar Trustees are responsible for the professional liability insurance program, which provides coverage for a substantial percentage of small and medium sized firms in the state. In addition, trustees will provide grants to county bar associations and constituent groups for professional liability and loss control programming.

Tom concentrates his practice in the areas of business litigation, business torts, appellate, complex insurance coverage, and professional responsibility matters. He also has substantial experience advising lawyers and law firms on risk management and professional liability issues. He has been retained and accepted as an expert witness in attorney professional liability and responsibility cases in state and federal courts. Tom is a past president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA), and a past president of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Before being appointed to the Bar Trust Fund, Tom was an active member of their Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee and their Professional Liability Committee.
