Nicole Gill, Counsel for CODISCOVR, the firm’s eDiscovery business, was recently chosen to be on the drafting team for the Sedona Conference’s Working Group 6 to develop commentary on Exporting Data from the People’s Republic of China. She was previously part of the brainstorming group for this topic and will now be part of the drafting team.
The drafting team is tasked with drafting a comment that:

Provides an overview of the landscape of new and existing (and forthcoming) privacy and data security regulations;

Addresses the challenges presented by the existing and evolving privacy and data security laws and regulations; and
-
Provides current best practices and guidance for complying with these laws and regulations while exporting data from the PRC in connection with legal matters outside of the PRC.
