Ken Fisher is quoted in the Commercial Observer’s article discussing New York’s state budget and proposed affordable housing measures. While Governor Kathy Hochul has prioritized reforming the state’s environmental review process and expanding the J-51 tax incentive, some lawmakers have pushed for higher taxes on corporations and millionaires, a proposal Hochul has strongly opposed. “From a big picture point of view, it’s hard to persuade legislators to raise taxes in the best of times and in an election year unless there’s a genuine crisis,” said Ken. “It doesn’t matter where they fall on the ideological spectrum; they need to be able to tell their constituents they have exhausted all other possibilities.”
