Regis Worley Promoted to Rank of U.S. Navy Captain

SAN DIEGO, February 27, 2026 – Regis C. Worley, Jr., a Member of Cozen O’Connor’s Intellectual Property Department, has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy.

Regis’ promotion comes after a highly competitive selection process. He currently serves in the Reserve Component of the U.S. Navy as an Engineering Duty Officer and also holds the role of Regional Commanding Officer, where he is responsible for supporting Portsmouth Naval Shipyard with a skilled workforce in times of need. His prior military service includes a year-long tour in Afghanistan.

Regis is a high-stakes intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution attorney. He concentrates his practice on complex IP litigation, patent prosecution, trade secret litigation, IP due diligence, preparation of validity and non-infringement opinions, and contract/licensing issues. He assists clients in a variety of technology industries to protect and enforce their technologies, including sensors, medical devices, manufacturing equipment, software and computer hardware, and consumer electronics. He is a registered patent attorney and has experience with various proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
