DOITT releases First Ever Contract for Design Services
This week, the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications released a first of its kind RFP for design services contracts through its Government X Design: Citywide Design Services Initiative. This RFP will help New Yorkers access city resources more efficiently and equitably by creating a vetted list of design vendors that city agencies could reference when providing services.

Mayor de Blasio and Council Member Rafael Espinal announced Ariel Palitz as the city’s first Senior Executive Director of the Office of Nightlife, also known as the city’s “Nightlife Mayor”.

A New School Chancellor
After Alberto Carvalho declined Mayor de Blasio’s school chancellor position, the mayor appointed Richard Carranza to the position. Until last week, Carranza served as superintendent of Houston, the seventh largest school district in the nation.
