Merrick Black

Associate

Merrick brings strong written and oral advocacy skills to her white collar practice, where she is committed to supporting her clients through inquiries, investigations, and enforcement actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Merrick served as a law clerk to the Honorable Margo K. Brodie of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York.

Merrick earned her J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School in 2024, where she was a publishing editor of the Cornell Law Review. She received her B.A. in 2019 from Yale University.

During law school, Merrick advocated on behalf of survivors of gender-based violence as a counselor for the university’s Title IX Office and as a student attorney in the International Human Rights: Litigation and Advocacy Clinic. She also served as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, and was a summer legal fellow at the Human Trafficking Legal Center.
