Peter focuses on patent, trademark, and copyright issues, including counseling, patent prosecution, and litigation. He helps clients procure patents for new drug composition, food products, new materials, renewable energy processes and artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Peter’s experiences encompass a broad range of technologies, ranging from biologics, therapeutic antibodies, immunotherapy, gene editing, medical device, bioinformatics, drug screening, disease diagnosis, vaccines, chemical synthesis, specialty food product, transgenic plants, nutritional supplement, probiotics, to biofuel. With clients in the United States, China, Japan, Australia, and Europe, he frequently counsels companies large and small on strategic IP planning, particularly in connection with business transactions.

A former biomedical researcher, Peter brings experience with scientific issues and client needs in the chemical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, agricultural and food industries. His experience includes helping a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company build a defensive patent portfolio around a key therapeutic antibody, advising startup companies on strategic patenting, and advising both domestic and foreign companies in enforcing patent rights and defending infringement suits in the United States.

Peter is a fluent speaker of both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
