Jason Kurtyka

Associate

Jason is a trusted and creative litigator who handles a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including antitrust, RICO, constitutional law, contract disputes, corporate fiduciary duty and shareholder disputes, business torts, class actions, and domestic and international arbitration. He has particular depth in antitrust litigation and counseling, having litigated cases under Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act and unfair competition laws and counseled businesses facing antitrust pressure from competitors and governments. Jason also has significant experience in investigating and litigating executive and management misappropriation and fraud on behalf of companies. 

Jason has handled matters through every phase of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through appeal, and has appeared in federal and state courts nationwide. His appellate experience includes litigating appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fifth, and Sixth Circuits, as well as in state appellate courts. He has also achieved a positive result in an International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration held under a mix of domestic and international law.

Jason also maintains a robust pro bono practice. He contributed to the briefs filed by the Cozen O’Connor team that brought a successful Voting Rights Act challenge to the Louisiana state legislative maps. Additionally, he has served as a captain for an election protection hotline, overseeing teams of lawyers assisting voters in casting their ballots. Jason also litigated a successful habeas corpus petition challenging the length of an immigrant’s detention without a bond hearing.

Prior to law school, Jason worked in college athletics as an assistant sports information director for the Marquette University Athletics Department. He also worked in the Villanova University Athletic Department’s compliance office.
