Lara's practice focuses on assisting her clients in obtaining significant recoveries in property subrogation actions. She represents the subrogation interests of national and regional carriers in matters arising from fire losses, water losses, product failures, and construction-related damages across multiple jurisdictions. Managing a high-volume docket of residential, condominium, and small-commercial losses, Lara evaluates new matters to identify those with the strongest recovery potential and advances them through investigation, expert coordination, strategic negotiation, and beyond.
Lara brings to this work a broad litigation and insurance background. She began her legal career at an Am Law 100 firm in Philadelphia, focusing on multi-jurisdiction litigations, regulatory matters, and internal investigations. She then practiced at a boutique firm, managing litigation and non-litigation matters involving complex first-party insurance coverage disputes and extracontractual claims before joining Cozen O’Connor.
Lara earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was an articles editor of the Cardozo Public Law, Policy & Ethics Journal and a teaching assistant for Lawyering Skills and Legal Writing. She received her B.S. in public affairs, summa cum laude, from Indiana University Bloomington.
