Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies Deepens Federal Health Policy Bench, Adding Four Lobbyists

Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, the bipartisan government relations and communications affiliate of international law firm Cozen O'Connor, today announced the addition of Rodney Whitlock, Debbie Curtis, Katie Waldo, and Maddie News to the firm's federal health policy practice in Washington, D.C.

Katie is an experienced government relations strategist with deep expertise in Medicaid policy, financing, and access. She helps health care clients navigate the complex federal and state policy landscape surrounding Medicaid, Medicare and other federal health care programs, translating policy and legislative developments into practical strategies that advance their priorities.

Drawing on extensive experience, Katie represents clients before the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Her work spans Medicaid coverage, payment and financing issues, Medicare, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

Before entering private practice, Katie served as a senior analyst at the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC), where her portfolio focused on Medicaid managed care, Medicaid payment and access, behavioral health, home and community-based services, and dually eligible beneficiaries.

Katie previously served as a health policy fellow in the office of U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Earlier in her career, she worked at The George Washington University, where she led the evaluation of the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program.

Katie earned her Master of Public Health degree from The George Washington University and Bachelor of Science from Boston University.
