Recognized trial veteran with 40 years of labor and employment experience meets rigorous criteria to arbitrate Labor and Employment cases nationwide
HOUSTON – July 5, 2013 – A. Martin (Marty) Wickliff, Jr., a veteran trial lawyer with nearly 40 years of experience devoted to a national trial and appellate practice in all phases of labor and employment law, has been selected by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) for its National Roster of Neutrals to provide labor and employment alternative dispute resolution services as an arbitrator. Mr. Wickliff is a member in the Labor & Employment Group at the Houston office of Cozen O’Connor, a leading law firm serving clients through 23 offices across two continents.
Certified as a specialist in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and selected by peers as a Fellow in the ABA College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, Inc., Mr. Wickliff’s professional distinctions in employment law include a designation by national publications Human Resource Executive® and Lawdragon™ as one of the nation’s “Most Powerful Employment Attorneys – Top 100,” and recognition by the International Bar Association’s list of Who’s Who for lawyers in the labor and employment field. He has first-chaired jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts throughout Texas and a number of other states. The AAA's National Roster of Neutrals consists of accomplished and respected leaders from the legal and business communities. In addition to demonstrated freedom from bias and prejudice, selection requires a minimum of 10 years of senior-level business or professional experience or legal practice, with commensurate educational degrees, professional honors, business knowledge and peer recognition.

Mr. Wickliff’s trial and appellate experience encompasses all types of employment matters (class actions, single and multiple Plaintiffs), including claims of discrimination, Sarbanes-Oxley and other whistleblower claims, wage and hour violations, trade secret and non-competes, defamation claims; labor arbitrations, union contract negotiations and unfair labor practices before the NLRB, as well as investigations. He has been recognized as a leading practitioner by The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and Texas SuperLawyers, and was chosen by Texas Lawyer Magazine in 2010 as of the 25 greatest Texas lawyers of the last 25 years. With a record of professional service that includes terms as president of the Houston Lawyers Association, a director of the State Bar of Texas and a trustee of the State Bar of Texas Insurance Trust.
