Pennsylvania Water Law [PAAWWA]

Michael Klein, a member of Cozen O'Connor's Utility, Environmental & Energy practice, discusses Pennsylvania water law in the PA Section —American Water Works Association. Michael discusses the Freedom Industries' chemical spill into the Elk River in West Virginia that occurred in 2014 and the lawsuit that followed. The class action resulted in a $126 million settlement.

He also discusses the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Water's white paper called "Lead and Copper Rule Revisions White Paper." The white paper concludes that lead and copper enter drinking water mainly from corrosion of lead and copper containing plumbing materials.
