Debra Friedman, a member of Cozen O'Connor's Labor & Employment department, spoke with Glamour about women being fearful of negotiating pay. “Employers historically have discouraged and sometimes prohibited employees from discussing pay, Culturally, many still view it as a taboo subject," says Debra. Women may also be fearful of negotiating, even if they have the power to do it, she says — concerned that there may be repercussions, like losing their jobs or being viewed as ‘difficult.’
