Julie Trester and Corey Hickman were recognized by their alma mater, the University of Illinois, for their pro bono work in support of a young Mexican family seeking asylum. Julie and Corey discussed the legal and political immigration challenges that they faced. "From a legal standpoint, I was not optimistic," says Corey. "But from an emotional or humane perspective, I didn't know how the judge could listen to her story and not rule for her."
