John Ho was quoted in a Law.com article discussing OSHA’s Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings rule. Although the rule, proposed under President Joe Biden, has stalled, the agency is leveraging its existing authority to issue more fines, and a growing number of states are following suit.
John stated that many observers expected the rule to be “dead on arrival” when President Trump took office, but OSHA held new hearings on the proposal in the summer of 2025 and solicited further public comments. Since then, though, the agency has not publicly indicated any plans to finalize the rule.
