Facility License Issues

Katherine M. Layman, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Health Law practice group, and J. Nicole Martin and Dana Petrillo, associates in Cozen O’Connor’s Health Law practice group, co-authored a chapter in An Introduction to Health Law Litigation Based on Contract and Government Claims titled, “Facility License Issues.” The book notes that, “Contract-based litigation can arise in a myriad of ways in the health care context” and each chapter is intended to serve as a “standalone primer” to provide an overview and practical advice on common issues. “Facility License Issues” discusses health care facility licensure, Medicare and Medicaid certification and enrollment, and the survey process and challenges to survey results.
