His work frequently involves matters arising from predetermined treatment schemes, patient brokering arrangements, and violations of Florida’s health care regulatory framework, including the Patient Self‑Referral Act and the Health Care Clinic Act. He has also handled disputes involving unlicensed activity and illegal ownership structures, among other forms of alleged misconduct.
James is experienced in litigating complex disputes in federal court and regularly advises clients navigating investigations that require a detailed factual record and a strategic approach to enforcement and recovery. Before joining Cozen O'Connor, James served as senior counsel in the Insurance Fraud and Recovery practice of another Am Law 100 firm. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. from the University of Florida.
