Gil Hernandez concentrates his practice on complex litigation matters. He has successfully litigated a wide array of civil cases while focusing his practice in the areas of catastrophic property damage claims, energy/utility losses, product liability, construction defect, negligence, and commercial litigation. He is accomplished at handling significant subrogation cases against major manufacturers, national contractors, government entities, and utilities in mass tort events, including numerous California and Nevada wildfires.

Gil’s practice experience includes both sides of the docket and he has handled numerous cases in both California and Nevada state, federal and appellate courts, and has argued before the Nevada Supreme Court. Gil is fluent in Spanish and frequently assists clients with catastrophic property damage claims, product liability, and commercial litigation matters in Mexico, Central America, and South America.

Gil is a member of the San Diego Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and has done extensive pro bone work for the ABA and San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Programs. He has authored several articles for the firm in connection with wildfires and automobile product recalls.

Chevy Cruze Recall [Subrogation and Recovery Alert!]

General Motors is recalling nearly all Chevy Cruze models built in the United States since the vehicle’s introduction two years ago. The company knows of 30 fires caused by the problem, but no injuries have been reported, spokesman Alan Adler said. Flames engulfed and destroyed cars in two cases reported to federal safety officials.
