Joel Maxwell

Joel concentrates his practice on Labor Law § 240 claims and representing owners and contractors in construction accident litigation. He assists his clients by analyzing liability and damages, conducting and defending depositions, drafting and arguing pleadings, motions, and appeals, interpreting contracts and relevant law, engaging in all aspects of trial preparation, conducting jury selection and trials, and mediating and negotiating at settlement. He has experience defending developers, owners, and contractors in all phases of construction defect and construction accident litigation, dram shop actions, negligent misrepresentation actions, general liability, motor vehicle accidents, trucking actions, and declaratory judgment actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Joel was a partner at a Northeast regional firm, where he oversaw a team of attorneys and paralegals. Joel earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law. During law school, he interned with the New York City Law Department.
