David Barron, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Labor & Employment Department, discusses the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposal to more than double the salary threshold under which employees must be paid for overtime even if they’ve been classified exempt because they have management responsibilities or meet other exceptions. The proposed change, which would take effect next year, would affect 5 million workers nationwide. "If you're a restaurant chain with a lot of $30,000 assistant managers, you're taking a really hard look at this," said David.
