Robert Friedman serves as chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Private Client Services Practice Group and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and trust planning and administration, including business succession planning and tax and charitable planning. Robert is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and he is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission on Decedents’ Estates Laws.
Mark Gallant is co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Health Care Practice Group concentrating his practice in client counseling and litigation involving federal and state regulation of health care providers and third-party payers. Prior to entering private practice in Philadelphia in 1988, Mark served as the deputy chief counsel to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in Washington, D.C., where he managed all litigation under the Medicare and Medicaid programs for the federal government nationally. Prior to that, Mark served for more than 10 years with the Civil Division of the U.S. Justice Department and U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C.
Samuel Lewis, focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and transactional matters involving computer, technology and internet-related issues. He has represented a wide variety of clients including motion picture companies, photographers, internet and computer related companies, health care providers, and various other corporations seeking to secure rights, protect their intellectual property and defend their rights on the internet. This is the third year in a row that Lewis has been named by Best Lawyers as a “Lawyer of the Year.”
Jeffrey Pasek maintains a national practice representing employers in all facets of labor and employment law, including the negotiating and drafting of employment agreements for c-suite executives.
Joseph Tilson, chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Labor & Employment Department, is also one of the co-managing partners of the firm’s Chicago office. This is the third time in the last six years that Tilson has been named by Best Lawyers as a “Lawyer of the Year.” His practice entails representing employers in large scale employment litigation and labor arbitrations. In the past 35 years, Tilson has tried more than 150 jury and non-jury cases before a full range of courts, administrative agencies and labor arbitrators. Tilson was recognized in 2016 as one of “Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Lawyers” by Human Resource Executive/LawDragon, and has consistently achieved a Tier 1 Labor & Employment Ranking from Chambers USA.
In addition, 62 Cozen O’Connor lawyers, including the above five “Lawyers of the Year,” have been selected as Best Lawyers, and will be included in the 2017 edition of the Best Lawyers in America.
