What Are Employers’ Responsibilities during A Disaster?

Aaron Holt, an associate of Cozen O'Connor's Labor & Employment department, spoke with Houston Public Media about how employers are expected to deal with employees who are affected by a hurricane or other disaster. "It depends on how the employer has classified this worker if they are nonexempt employees they have to be paid for any hours they worked. The rules are different for salary exempt employees even if the facility closes for parts of the week," said Aaron.
