New York State Passes FY25 Budget [Alert]

This weekend, New York state lawmakers passed the $237B FY25 state budget, reflecting an increase of $8B from FY24.

Jamie focuses on legislative campaigns, budget advocacy, and regulatory approvals within New York City and state government on behalf of firm clients. These clients include companies, institutions, trade associations, and nonprofits. Jamie has extensive experience as a government affairs attorney and political aide.

Prior to joining the firm, Jamie was an attorney in the New York office of an international law firm with an active New York state and city government affairs practice. In that role, he worked with for-profit clients ranging from transportation and telecommunications providers to app-based technology companies and entertainment producers. He also serviced nonprofit clients including one of NYC's largest hospitals and various social service organizations that focused on issues ranging from domestic violence, women's health, and elder abuse to educational enrichment for under-served youth and technology empowerment services for seniors. Preceding that experience, Jamie was an attorney in the government affairs practice of New York state’s top-grossing lobbying firm, where he coordinated New York City legislative, budgetary, and legislative affairs. Jamie has led many legislative advocacy campaigns and secured millions of dollars in discretionary and capital awards for deserving nonprofit clients.

Jamie has a strong background in local government, politics, and policy. Before law school, he served as the finance director for Maloney for Congress. In this role, he was a top adviser to the congresswoman while raising more than $3 million in a nationally covered successful reelection battle. He has also served as a consultant to numerous candidates for public office, political organizations, and nonprofits. Jamie is an active fundraiser for political candidates and civic causes in New York and across the nation. He was recently one of the youngest members of Hillary for America's National Finance Committee.

Jamie has completed internships with the New York City Council, Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, British Parliament, and the Coro Center for Leadership in Public Affairs.

Jamie earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where he was an editor of the Journal of Law & Policy, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and assisted numerous startup companies and nonprofits as a member of the Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy (BLIP) Clinic. He earned his undergraduate degree in politics, social justice & social policy from Brandeis University, where he served as the director of communications for the Student Union and chief justice of the Student Judiciary. He also studied politics abroad at the London School of Economics and law at Hong Kong University.
