An established litigator, Katherine counsels and represents insurers in a wide range of liability and coverage issues. She brings a decade of courtroom experience both in private practice and in several previous roles in public service, including as an Assistant District Attorney. Clients seek her out for her ability to manage all aspects of civil litigation, including early investigation, motion practice, settlement negotiation, and trial preparation.
In private practice, Katherine has represented individuals, professionals, and corporate entities in general liability, construction, labor law, and medical malpractice cases from inception through trial.
As an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office, Katherine prosecuted hundreds of criminal offenses including vehicular crimes, violent crimes, and financial crimes, ultimately trying ten cases to verdict. She concluded her public service with the Sex Crimes Unit of the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted sexual offenders and advocated for survivors of sexual assault.
Katherine began her public service career as a Law Graduate fellow for the New York City Police Department, later joining the New York City Law Department's Special Federal Litigation Unit, where she handled dozens of civil rights actions brought pursuant to 42 U.S. Code § 1983 against the City and its officers. Before joining the DA's office, she returned to the NYPD's Legal Bureau, counseling officials on statutory and constitutional law.
Katherine earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in English and Philosophy from Colgate University. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she was a managing editor of the Family Court Review.
