Kara concentrates her practice on life insurance and complex commercial litigation. Kara assists her clients by drafting motions, pleadings, and substantive briefs, conducting and managing all aspects of discovery, coordinating and developing overall litigation strategy, preparing for mediation, and appearing in court on their behalf.
Before joining the firm, Kara was a litigation associate with two Am Law 100 firms, where she gained experience representing and advising clients in complex commercial matters in federal and state courts, with an emphasis on product liability, insurance, mass torts, and contract dispute matters.
Kara's pro bono experience includes successfully representing single mothers in child custody and support proceedings. She has assisted undocumented women seeking temporary visas under the Violence Against Women Act and brought a class action against the Indiana Department of Child Services for violations of foster children's due process rights.
Kara earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law, where she was a senior editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Bucknell University.
