Susan is an experienced litigator, representing large corporate clients in high‑stakes, multifaceted disputes across the country. She regularly manages national litigation, coordinating national trial strategies, training local counsel across the country, coordinating written discovery responses, and reporting to clients (including in-house counsel and insurance carriers) on a daily basis.
Susan brings a deeply client‑focused approach to every matter, beginning with understanding each client’s objectives and tailoring strategies that protect their business interests. Whether seeking early dismissal, negotiating favorable resolutions, or taking a case to trial, she is known for her ability to navigate complex fact patterns, manage large‑scale litigation portfolios, and advocate aggressively. Licensed to practice in seven states as well as all federal courts in Texas, Susan has first-chaired several bench trials and first- and second-chaired several jury trials.
Prior to joining Cozen O'Connor, Susan was a partner in the Dallas office of another Am Law 100 firm. In her more than two decades of practice, Susan has represented product manufacturers, corporations, banks, financing institutions, premises owners, and individuals in hundreds of lawsuits involving insurance coverage, commercial disputes, product liability, employment matters, toxic torts, sexual abuse claims, aviation issues, and construction‑related litigation.
Susan maintains an active pro bono practice and is a frequent speaker on trial-related topics, including how best to prepare and defend a case from inception through motion practice, discovery, and trial. She earned her B.A. from Rice University and her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
