David McGough is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience handling complex civil and commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout New England. His practice focuses on the defense of a variety of claims including general liability, construction liability, product liability, environmental and pollution claims, materials handling liability, commercial and contract disputes, professional liability, and municipal litigation.
David has extensive experience representing insurers and insureds in high-exposure matters across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut. He has also represented municipalities and state agencies in litigation involving infrastructure, transportation, and mass transit projects.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, David practiced with a boutique litigation firm in Boston. Before that, he served as a senior trial attorney in the staff counsel office of a leading global insurance group, where he was recognized as one of the top ten in-house and panel counsel attorneys nationwide for excellence in legal services. His earlier practice included significant experience defending automotive product liability claims and serving as regional defense counsel for major automotive manufacturers.
David earned his J.D. from Villanova University's Widger School of Law and his B.A. from Salem State University.
